Now in its 10th year, the 2012 Sales Compensation Trends Survey©, co-sponsored by The Alexander Group and WorldatWork, showed that 2011 was a positive year for sales departments and their sales personnel. Data collected from more than 115 sales departments, representing over 120,000 sales professionals, provided an insight on what occurred in 2011 and what they think will happen in 2012.

More than 115 sales departments participated in the 2011 Global Sales Compensation Practices Survey, co-sponsored by The Alexander Group and WorldatWork. In general, the survey showed that whether companies employ a worldwide sales organization model or a local sales management model, they are striving for greater global program uniformity. Participants provided data on the annual design process; governance: global versus local; trends in program global uniformity; automation support; government regulations and restrictions; labor/works council practices; cultural and social norms; and survey sources.
