We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SQL Developer to join our data team. This role will focus on data manipulation and storage, database administrative tasks (e.g., database backups and maintenance), server and database performance optimization, and the development of insightful reports and dashboards using Power BI. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of SQL, experience in managing and maintaining relational databases, and a knack for transforming data into actionable intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize existing databases for performance, availability and security
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and scripts for data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues including indexing, deadlocks and data integrity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data and deliver reporting solutions
  • Schedule and automate data refreshes, alerts and report distributions
  • Maintain documentation related to database structures, processes and dashboards
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy across all reporting and analytics platforms
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI that support business decision-making
  • Help maintain and develop in-house applications using the JavaScript/dotnet/SQL Server stack hosted on Windows servers and the Azure Platform

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or have equivalent experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or current green card holder. Please note: visa sponsorship is not an option. TN visa accepted
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL development and database administration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL and database design principles
  • Solid understanding of data governance and best practices in data management
  • Experience with version control systems like Github is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with .NET programming (C# preferred), especially for backend data applications or APIs, a plus
  • Experience with JavaScript for interactive data visualizations or front-end enhancements, a plus
  • Familiarity with Azure SQL, SSIS, or SSRS, a plus
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for extended data processing or automation, a plus
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments and project management tools like Jira or Azure DevOps, a plus

Salary: $90,000-110,000 base
